HISTORY
Established in 1853, 800 Homeopathy has been a friendly resource for homeopathic remedies for more than 150 years.

In the 1840s, Herman Luyties, MD opened a small homeopathic practice in St. Louis, MO.  The first local resource west of the Mississippi, doctors moving west began asking him for homeopathic kits and supplies.  He moved his office to the back of the building and in 1853 officially opened a small homeopathic pharmacy.  Luyties Pharmacal Company became a primary resource for homeopathy across the country when the Homeopathic Medical College of Missouri was established in St. Louis in 1857.  Dr. Lyties made it easier for his patients by formulating combination tablets for specific ailments, especially for patients that travelled or lived too far away for him to reach quickly.

After receiving the 1904 World’s Fair Grand Prize of Medicine “for superior purity, accuracy and quality of Luyties Homeopathic Remedies”, August Luyties (Herman’s son) built a factory size building for Luyties Pharmacal.  In 1910 manufacturing moved into the much needed building and Luyties has been a much loved family business ever since. The long company history helps explain the loyal customer base, the family heritage, the wide product line and the commitment to classical homeopathy. 

Generations of Luyties’ employees have remained steadfast to homeopathic principles and have fostered the art and science of manufacturing homeopathic remedies through the trials and hardships to reach today’s level of acceptance and popularity.
